According to NBER.orgthe National Bureau of Economic Research, the recession officially ended June, 2009.
Yet unemployment just went UP to 9.8%.
So we are not in recession folks; we have been out of it since mid-2009. What is keeping unemployment so HIGH?
Increased costs to employers. Obama + Democrats have massively increased costs for hiring employees...meaning less people will be hired.
How have they increased costs? Obamacare. Already AT&T has recorded a $1 BILLION write-down due to Obamacare. Caterpillar reported a $100 million charge in the 1st quarter. Deer & Co. reported a $150-million expense. That's just 3 companies, imagine the TOTAL write-downs for every company in America!
With those extra expenses due to health care, that means these companies have LESS money to spend on...new hires.
The other increased cost? Proposed tax increases to take effect at the end of the year if Democrats allow the Bush tax cuts to expire. Another proposed cost increase is cap-and-trade that Democrats might pass in the lame duck session.
Put together as well as many numerous additional regulations and costs, businesses were probably ready to hire as the recession was ending in mid-2009, yet were hit with a shock of all these additional costs.
Unemployment at this point, is 100% due to Obama's/Democrat's policies.
