Check out the figures for the 2010 budget (which just ended): the projected deficit is $1.17 TRILLION (or $1170 billion).
That is the deficit for ONE YEAR FOLKS!
Now check out the debt over the last few years. Public Debt went from 41% in 2008 to an estimated 70% in 2010! That's nearly doubled in 2 years.
There is no chance that this is sustainable long term; the spending has to be curtailed.
