This post is a summation of this post.
So why are the TSA back-scanner and pat-downs ineffective?
Al Queda is not stupid. They adapt to our security measures. After 9/11, when we increased security, they put a bomb in a shoe. After we took off our shoes at the airport, they had a guy put a bomb in his underwear. They see what our security measures are and design attacks around them.
Well, you'd think that now that we're searching for bomb in everyone's underwear via scanner/patdown, we're safe. Wrong, and here's why:
1 The underwear bomber didn't board a flight in America, he boarded it in the Netherlands. And whatever security measures are in the Netherlands, if they are too restrictive Al Queda will fly out of another airport. We can't scan everyone in the world flying TO America. 2 Even if an Al Queda terrorist boards their plane in America, we won't stop them. Why? Because Al Queda has already planted bombs in their rectum to evade detection by scanner/pat down. In 2009 an Al Queda terrorist planted a bomb in his rectum and tried to assassinate the Saudi head of counter-terrorism. 3 Neither the scanner not the pat down can detect a bomb inside someone's rectum. 4 The terrorists know this
Again, Al Queda are not idiots; they adapt to whatever security measures we have. Given that news of the new TSA screening procedures are all over the world, it's safe to say they know we have them. They probably have people make dry runs through our security to see what the weaknesses are all the time.
Ask yourself: given that Al Queda KNOWS we are doing a back-scanner or pat-down for all travelers, do you think they would be stupid enough to plant a bomb where they will be caught? No, they will put the bomb where they know it will not be found.
So given they know our screening methods, and how to bypass them (bomb in the rectum), and proof that they have already put a bomb in the rectum...
It's safe to assume that any Al Queda terrorist can board any plane TOMORROW with explosives in their rectum, and they will be completely undetected.
This makes the new TSA procedures completely ineffective. Totally useless.
We need to move to an enhanced interview process like the Israelis have.
